Pauline Vera Moore
Pauline Vera Moore (Thorn) was born July 13, 1923 weighing just 2lbs with no hope from the doctor, her mother & grandmother took care of her and she was a fighter and lived to the age of 88.
She passed away into the arms of Jesus where she stayed at Trinity Blessed Homecare in Milwaukie, Oregon on Feb. 17, 2012.
Pauline was born in Coin, Iowa the daughter of William Henry and Gladys Pauline (Kinman) Thorn. She was raised in Coin where she attended school through the 8th grade. Pauline worked on her parent’s farm along with working at the Iowa school of Deaf in Council Bluff for 2 years.
She came to Oregon to visit her sister and started working at Heinies Bakery in St.Helens, Oregon. This is where she met Clifford J Moore in 1947 and on October 17, 1948 they were married.
They raised their family, 2 sons and a daughter in St. Helens. She worked as a waitress at The Village Inn and at the St. Helens Hospital.
After they retired they bought a trailer and joined a club and had lots of fun with friends and taking their family to Fort Stevens every summer. They attended the Church of Christ in Scappoose, Oregon.
Pauline enjoyed flower gardening, oil painting and making ceramics.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, six sisters and one brother and one son, James Dennis Moore.
Survivors include her children: David J. Moore of Scappoose, Louann Pauline Snowley of Gladstone, OR: grandchildren Rachelle Smythe of Gladstone, OR, J D Moore of St. Helens, OR, Ryan Snowley of Longview, WA; great grand children; Cole, Chase, Cade Smythe, and Libbianna and Bellalyse Snowley
Graveside Service will be held at Bethany Cemetery, 11:30, Friday, February 24th. Visitation will be Thursday, noon until 5PM at Columbia Funeral Home.
